Michigan Wolves 99 (MI) advanced to the 19U Boys semifinals with a win against Team Challenger FC (OH-N). In the opening minutes, Team Challenger earned a penalty kick that got saved by the goalkeeper. The Michigan keeper saved two early back to back shots on goal by Team Challenger to preserve the 0-0 tie. Michigan broke the tie in the 37th minute after a cross led to a header from Bryan Lendzion. Eight minutes later Juan Jaramillo extended the Michigan lead as he found the back of the net off a free kick. Michigan took a 2-0 lead to halftime. Early in the second half Michigan was awarded a free kick, but the shot hit off the crossbar to keep their lead at two. Andrew Roseberry found the back of the goal in the 69th minute to reduce the deficit to one for Team Challenger. Michigan extended the lead back to two just 10 minutes later with a goal from Mason Smith. Michigan went on to win 3-1.
