Livonia Boy Scout donates duffel bags to foster children
A Livonia Boy Scout and Wolves 05 player has gone ahead and helped dozens of foster children in Wayne County as a part of his Eagle Scout project. George Atala, a member of Troop 755 in Northville, recently decided to help foster children in the county by providing duffel bags full of gear, including stuff animals, toothbrushes and more.
After finding out foster children could use bags and items, Atala reached out to Michigan Health and Human Services in Wayne County and worked with it to provide items to foster children across the county. Atala was able to raise nearly $5,000 to purchase 170 bags with several items in them, including blankets, coloring books and more. He and several other Scouts donated the items earlier this month in downtown Detroit.
