Hawks Houston ECNL Recap

Michigan Hawks 02 Black returned home from Texas on Monday after another well run ECNL event.  The girls kicked off the weekend against a tough Dallas FC team.  It was a hard fought match on both sides, but the girls played tough until the final whistle to come away with the 2-1 victory.  Conditions for Sunday morning’s game against Solar ECNL, one to watch according to several college coaches, was chilly by Texas standards.   The first half ended in a 0-0 tie, but after a few missteps in the second half the team found themselves  down 3-0.  With 15 min left the girls scored to make it 3-1 and minutes later, put a second in the net only to have it called back.  Despite putting an immense amount of pressure on their back line, we came up short and finished with a 3-1 loss.  The girls bounced back on Monday and the goalkeeping duo posted a clean sheet against Sting Austin ECNL; finishing the weekend with a 2-0 win.

All and all it was a great weekend for the parents & players…on to Minnesota!
