Caiman Moore and Jimmy Walkinshaw help Ohio Northern to their 5th straight win
ADA — The wins keep coming and the shut-out streak remains alive and well. The Ohio Northern men’s soccer team downed Rose-Hulman 2-0 Saturday night at Kerscher Stadium. The victory, the Polar Bears’ fifth in a row, pushes their overall record to 6-2-1.
The shut out marked Northern’s fifth in a row, which is its longest such streak since 2012. Sophomore goaltender John Lombardo (Solon) kept up his stout play with three saves on the night. The Fightin’ Engineers registered 10 shots in all, while the Polar Bears had 14, eight of which were on frame.
ONU senior Luke Fickenworth (Cincinnati/Anderson) tallied the game’s first goal. He netted the score in the 33rd minute on an assist from sophomore Levi King (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central).
Senior Takashi Yuzawa (Shizouka, Japan) made it a 2-0 game in the 41st minute off an assist from senior Tim Hoffman (Strongsville).
The Polar Bears remain at home and host Adrian, Mich. Wednesday at 7 p.m.
